Sewer ConnectionsApplying for a Sewer Permit
In order to make connection to the Greater Hazleton Joint Sewer Authority (GHJSA) sewer system, you must first obtain a Sewer Permit. A Sewer Permit Application is available for download below including instructions and a checklist of items needed. Developers requesting more than one (1) EDU must complete a Reservation of Capacity Application and Agreement, which is available for download. Also available for download is the Procedures & Requirements for Connection. Hard copies may be obtained at the GHJSA office located at 500 Oscar Thomas Drive, West Hazleton, PA 18202 during normal business hours.
Tapping Fees for connecting to the sewer system are explained in the Tapping Fee Study, which is also available for download. The Board of Directors approved the Tapping Fee Study and formally adopted the fees in Resolution 001 of 2015 on January 26, 2015. A summary of the two part tapping fees is as follows:
